Compensation: In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

About The Program

• Residential Treatment Program (STRTP): This short-term residential therapeutic program provides services to pregnant, parenting, and at-risk young women (and their children) ages 13-18 in the foster care and/or juvenile justice system. These youth are typically placed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) or Probation Department.
  
  

Role Summary: Responsible for coordinating and providing life skills education and recreational activities for residents and their children. Provides a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for residents and their children through direct care.

• Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00pm to 9:00pm, with every other Tuesday off, 12:00pm to 8:00pm
• Location: 155 N. Occidental Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
  
  

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide group therapeutic rehabilitation for residents in STRTP to develop daily living skills.
• Develops topics for weekly life skills groups for all residents.
• Maintains posted activities calendar for residents and documentation of sign-up sheets and activity participation notes, etc.
• Plans and facilitates daily activities incorporating physical and leisure aspects.
• Responsible for the supervision, protection, and care of residents.
• Documents residents’ progress, identifies the possible need for professional services and communicates such findings to professional staff.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, or related degree. Coursework in recreational leadership is required. Experience in group, social or recreational work is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
