Job summary

Compass SLS & ILS in Sacramento is seeking a Life Skills Instructor (Life Coach) to help adults with developmental disabilities live more independently in their own homes through Independent Living Services.

You will teach life skills such as money management, household tasks, exercise and nutrition, social skills, and scheduling medical appointments, with a supportive team and opportunities for growth. This full-time role includes a generous benefits package and paid training.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn; no college degree required, but must be teachable.
• Must be excellent at scheduling and knowledgable about community resources.
• Must have a car, insurance, valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be completed before hire (we’ll pay!).

Responsibilities

• Teach clients life skills topics such as money management, household tasks, exercise and nutrition.
• Support clients in recreational activities and social outings.
• Assist with medical and dental appointment setting.
• Provide guidance on general social and emotional skills.
