Qualifications

• Two (2) years of college coursework or Associate's Degree (may be waived)
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to monitor and supervise students in the classroom
• Patience and ability to enforce good behavior with dignity
• Physical ability to stand, walk, or sit, move, lift or restrain students
• Willingness to assist with meals and toileting, and observe safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teacher in conducting lessons and setting up equipment
• Independently monitor and supervise students between classes and at lunch
• Encourage and nurture students; demonstrate flexibility and initiative
• Provide medical support or intervention as needed
• Assist with feeding students with varying abilities; monitor behavior and safety
