Job summary
Abound Health invites caring families across Pennsylvania to become Life Sharing Host Families, welcoming an individual with an I/DD into a warm home and daily life. Host families support routines, companionship, and personal growth within a structured, person-centered framework.
As independent contractors, you will receive a daily stipend, ongoing training, and 24/7 support to ensure successful matches. Flexible matching and strong community partnerships help sustain lasting connections.
Qualifications
- Be Pennsylvania residents (all counties welcome)
- Be at least 21 years old
- Pass required background checks (FBI, child abuse, criminal)
- Complete home inspections and meet safety standards
- Provide references
- Participate in interviews and matching assessment
- Be willing to include the individual in meals, routines, activities, and family life
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
- Support daily living skills and household routines
- Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support
- Encourage community involvement and recreational activities
- Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans
- Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth
