Job summary

William Blair’s 2027 Investment Banking Life Sciences Biotechnology Summer Analyst Program invites undergraduates with strong science and finance interest to gain real-world experience.

You'll work on valuation analyses, landscape analyses, and pitch materials, with exposure to live financing and M&A in biotech and medtech, in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Chicago or New York location options and a 9-week program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate bachelor’s degree with anticipated graduation between December 2027 - June 2028.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above preferred (but open to all applicants).
• Undergraduate major: all majors considered (life science preferred).
• Science background strongly preferred. Demonstrated interest in the life sciences and understanding of scientific concepts.
• General understanding of accounting and finance.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Adaptable in changing environment with emotional maturity.
• Highly motivated, detail oriented, and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Research and creation of pitch materials.
• Conduct valuation analyses to value potential clients.
• Deepen industry knowledge with landscape analyses.
• Projects related to public and private financing and M&A trends in life sciences.
• Contribute to live financing and M&A transaction processes.
• Gain direct client exposure in a collaborative environment.
