Job description

Charles River CFO, Inc. is searching for a Senior Controller/VP of Finance located in or near Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will be a CPA and be available to start immediately at a part-time capacity of 0-30 hours per week.

Location: Boston, MA (Required)

Work Setting: Remote

The Senior Controller/VP of Finance will oversee AR, AP, and General Accounting. Immediate need with year-end bonuses, growth strategies, and day-to-day accounting.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Background in Life Sciences and in the Public Sector required
  • CPA required
  • Must have SEC Reporting experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in QuickBooks is required and a variety of systems is preferred
  • Tech-Savvy, comfortable learning new cloud tools
  • Experience using payroll, expense reimbursement, and bill pay systems
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting
  • Working knowledge of tax filings such as 1099s and sales tax forms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Commitment to providing excellent client service
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves and do hands-on work
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, identify critical issues, and solve problems
