Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network is seeking a Driver to provide safe, timely emergency and non-emergency ground transportation for our organ and tissue recovery teams in the northern Illinois and northwest Indiana service area.

You will transport internal staff to hospitals, airports and other facilities, deliver clinical supplies, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and logs. A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and excellent communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and learn transportation, property and security-related duties.
• Ability to learn and utilize computer applications for job performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely emergency and non-emergency ground transportation for organ and tissue recovery departments.
• Transport internal staff to and from hospitals, airports and other facilities.
• Transport human organs, blood, and tissue samples.
• Deliver clinical supplies and equipment.
• Work assigned schedule to provide 24-hour department coverage.
• Keep Gift of Hope vehicles clean and in proper working condition.
• Complete maintenance checks on delivery vehicles and notify supervisor of issues.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Maintain thorough logs to track routes and deliveries.
• Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to complete deliveries on time.
• Assist with property-related duties such as security tours and light maintenance.
