Required: a high school diploma (or equivalent); CPR certification; and EMS dispatcher credentials where required. Training or sponsor programs may be available. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and overtime.

Qualifications

• CPR certification may be required; EMT/paramedic credentials not universal.
• Certification and training follow employer dispatch protocols.

Responsabilités

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about patient condition to determine priority.
• Determine response priority through the medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when assigned.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay information to responding personnel and document call processing.
• Participate in quality-review activities.
