A leading university seeks an Alarm Control Systems Technician to oversee the installation, modification, inspection, and maintenance of critical alarm systems. Candidates must have significant experience with fire alarm and generator systems, alongside a background in electronic technology. This full-time position requires strong technical skills and offers a structured work schedule.
Under the general supervision of the electrical services supervisor, installs modifies, inspects, repairs, and tests assigned alarm and control systems. Performs electrical and electronic repairs to assigned systems and components. Systems supported include; fire pump, Freon detectors, HVAC controls, elevators, telecommunications, access control, fire alarms, duress and security alarms, and generators. Assist contractors with modifications and designs of alarm systems. Maintenance and repair including preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, and emergency repairs of alarm systems.50%
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Technology preferred.
Completion of related trade school or related military experience may substitute on a 1 year for 1 year basis.
