Job summary

A Fire & Low-Voltage Service Technician role at AMPAM supports inspection, testing, and maintenance of commercial fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems in the San Diego area.

Responsibilities include emergency and preventive service, system testing, documentation, and ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and AHJ requirements. A minimum of 2 years’ experience and electronics training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in electronics, electrical systems, or low-voltage systems preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and integrating commercial fire alarm and low-voltage systems.
• Experience servicing commercial fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
• Experience with IP-based systems and network-connected devices preferred.
• Preferred certifications for Edwards/EST, Brivo, Kantech, Genetec, Lenel, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service commercial low-voltage systems including fire alarms, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and structured cabling.
• Perform emergency service calls and scheduled maintenance visits; replace defective devices and verify proper operation before leaving site.
• Program or configure equipment and verify proper communication between integrated security systems.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP-enabled devices including wireless access points, network cameras, access controllers, and switches.
• Maintain accurate service tickets, documentation, and customer communication; ensure safety compliance and professional conduct.
