Job summary

TLC Engineering Solutions in Philadelphia invites motivated engineering students to join our internship program. Interns will apply academic knowledge to real projects, from concept to construction, and gain exposure to life-safety disciplines.

Under on-the-job mentoring, you'll learn Revit drafting/modeling and fire protection design including fire alarms, sprinklers, and other suppression systems, with a flexible hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering, fire protection engineering technology, architectural engineering, or other engineering disciplines based on understanding of SFPE core competencies
• Desire to pursue a career in engineering consulting, specifically in life safety services
• Ability to work part-time (up to 25 hours per week)
• Computer software knowledge or ability to learn, as appropriate (Revit, HASS, Hydratec, PyroSim, CONTAM, etc.)

Responsibilities

• The Intern will work at applying academic education to assigned tasks on real projects of all sizes and types from concept to completion of construction.
• They are provided on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced engineers to learn the basics of Revit drafting / modeling and fire protection design including fire alarms, sprinkler, and other suppression systems.
