Job summary

The Agency for Health Care Administration in Florida seeks a Fire Protection Specialist to provide life safety inspection expertise for licensure and certification of health care facilities.

The role includes on-site surveys, documenting findings, and reporting, with enforcement of NFPA codes. Travel and after-hours work are possible; CMS QSEP training must be completed within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Fire Safety Inspector I Certification is required.
• Two years of professional or paraprofessional experience in fire prevention or related inspection work.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide life safety inspection expertise for licensure and certification of health care facilities.
• Conduct on-site surveys, document findings and prepare reports.
• Enforce NFPA codes and laws in fire safety and life safety.
• May work as team leader or member and may be required to work weekends/holidays.
• Complete CMS QSEP training within six months of hire.
