Job summary

Joint Commission seeks an experienced Director of Healthcare Facilities Management for Life Safety Code surveyor opportunities. The selected candidate will oversee facilities management, safety programs, and compliance across healthcare environments, with 100% nationwide travel.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and achieve CPHQ certification by December 31, 2028, or already possess related certifications.

Qualifications

• Five years required in a management position in engineering, facilities management, hazardous materials and waste management, emergency preparedness, biomedical equipment, and/or utility systems or as Safety Officer; knowledge of Joint Commission Physical Environment standards (Life Safety Code NFPA101, Health Care Facilities Code NFPA 99) is essential.
• Eight years of hospital experience in facilities management preferred.
• Specialized knowledge of building, utility and fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Review Life Safety Code surveys and Environment of Care functions nationwide.
• Provide education, consultation, and assessment aligned with Joint Commission standards and policies.
• Determine compliance levels with applicable standards and recommend improvements.
• All positions require 100% nationwide travel.
