Job description

Role Overview

Apply your scientific judgment to help evaluate and improve advanced AI systems. Your expertise will inform the standards used to assess research problems, analytical methods, statistical reasoning, and evidence-based conclusions. This is an ongoing talent pool for future project assignments, not a guarantee of an active opening at the time of application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create research problems from your field, including the system, data, assumptions, and reference answer used to assess model responses.

  • Evaluate AI‑written analyses and interpretations, including whether methods fit the research question, statistics support the stated claim, and conclusions follow from the evidence.

  • Identify responses that appear internally consistent but would not meet peer‑review standards because of study design, sample limitations, or measurement constraints.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a life, physical, or social science, with research experience.

  • Experience designing studies and interpreting data independently, recent enough to clearly explain the decisions you made.

  • Clear written communication, as the work requires explaining scientific reasoning.

  • Comfort working with ambiguity and raising unclear instructions when needed.

Fields Covered

  • Biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and materials science.

  • Physics, astronomy, and mathematics.

  • Earth and environmental science, and agriculture.

  • Psychology, sociology, and anthropology.

  • Economics, political science, and policy research.

Work Terms

Remote, hourly independent contractor engagements. Projects may begin on short notice and are assigned when a need matches your background. Each project‑specific invitation will state the rate, expected hours, and client. Hiring decisions are made for the individual project, not through this standing listing. Submitting an application to this listing does not result in an acceptance or rejection decision. Match timing may range from about one week to several months, depending on available projects.

Compensation

Projects in this field have offered $60 to $120 per hour, with final rates determined by each project’s scope and depth.

Eligibility

Complete the application once to be considered across the science opportunities for which you qualify. Completing the domain expert interview and joining all eligible networks can improve the likelihood of a future match.

Application Process

  • Submit your resume and confirm your work location.

  • Complete a short AI interview, approximately 20 minutes.

  • Your background is verified before you are added to the science talent pool.

  • If a relevant project becomes available, you may receive an invitation to its specific listing.
