Summary

The primary responsibility of a Lifeguard/Pool Attendant is to prevent drowning and other injuries. You will welcome guests, enforce safety rules, manage pool equipment, and assist swimmers in danger. Ideal candidates have excellent customer service skills, are highly organized, knowledgeable about pool maintenance, physically fit, attentive, and friendly.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Setting up pool furniture and ensuring cleanliness and safety of the pool area.
• Welcoming guests, providing towels, shade, refreshments, and attending to requests.
• Enforcing safety protocols, monitoring guests, and reporting incidents.
• Managing pool cleaning schedules and performing inspections.
• Responding effectively in emergencies following the Emergency Action Plan.
• Maintaining professional appearance, using proper radio protocol, and documenting incidents.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$18/hr - $22/hr

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications.
• Availability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends during summer.
• Seasonal position.

Physical Demands

• Ability to react quickly, assist or lift persons in distress.
• Remain alert while sitting, standing, or walking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous lifeguarding experience.
• Local candidates only (NY/NJ/CT/PA).
