Job description

Summary: The Camp Aquatics Team is responsible for ensuring the pool area is safe and well maintained to meet the needs of campers and staff.

Responsibilities:

In order to fulfill the mission of The League, the lifeguard must:

• Supervise the aquatic area, using lifeguarding best practices and provide a safe environment for all participants.
• Ensure daily cleaning of pool water, deck, and equipment
• Inspect equipment at least daily, report equipment that needs replacement/ repair
• Ensure all pool equipment is safe for pool use
• Record and maintain accurate pool chemical readings and reports, according to the state regulation
• Advocate for The League and People with Disabilities
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Wellness Center
• Demonstrate the 5 Core Values of The League (Accountability, Participant Focus, Quality, Independence and Mutual Respect).

Training Required:

• Lifeguard Certification
• CPR and First Aid Certifications
• League Annual Trainings
• Position allows for series of Hepatitis Vaccine

Qualifications Requirements:

• Must have current lifeguard, CPR and first aid certifications
• Excellent communication and socialization skills required
• Experience working with the disabled population is desired
