Duke Life Flight is seeking an Air Medical Communications Specialist to join the Duke University Health System. You will operate a communications center with radio, weather radar, and mapping tools to support air and ground patient transport.

You will coordinate with medical teams and safety agencies to ensure timely, safe conveyance of patients. Qualifications include a high school diploma, two years of dispatch experience, NC EMT/EMD certification, and the ability to learn Maestro and Dispatch

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years dispatching experience in 911 control line, fire/police dispatching, air traffic control, hospital-based health or related setting or equivalent.
• Certified as a North Carolina EMT or EMD; hold current IAMTC, IAED, or CommLink CFC.
• Maintain certification through continuing education; CommLink CFC within 18 months.

Responsabilités

• Operate phones, two-way radio, weather radar, computer database, and mapping systems in support of air/ground transport.
• Respond to emergency transport calls and dispatch crews per procedures; coordinate with physicians, nurses, and receiving units.
• Provide information on aircraft/ground transport availability, weather projections, locations, and ETAs.
• Coordinate with Public Safety agencies to ensure proper transport coordination in emergencies.
• Document trauma care, bed availability, and patient transport details; maintain reports and logs.
