Life Enrichment - Reflections Coordinator (Finance)
The Life Enrichment Reflections Coordinator serves as a knowledgeable and creative resource to the community regarding the needs of residents with dementia and related disorders. The coordinator performs duties with an upbeat, helpful, and positive attitude, ensuring no interruption to activities or events. They also maintain necessary records for compliance and reporting as directed by the Executive Director and Life Enrichment Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, implementing, and ensuring a varied and innovative Life Enrichment program to enhance residents' emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual well-being, as outlined in the Reflections program manual and directed by the Executive Director.
- Coordinating scheduling and activity assignments of designated Life Enrichment Assistants (LEA) for successful program delivery.
- Determining supplies needed for activities, events, and Exploration/Reminiscence Area (ERA).
- Planning activities and events within a monthly budget.
- Seeking guidance from the Executive Director or Life Enrichment Director to ensure best practices.
- Advocating for Resident Rights at all times.
- Assisting with orientation and training of all Reflections staff related to Life Enrichment and dementia care.
Qualifications for success include:
- Certified Dementia Practitioner (Preferred).
- Background in Recreational, Music, or Art Therapy (Preferred).
- Occupational Therapist, Memory Care, Education, or Social Work experience (2 years).
- Interest or experience in psychology, sociology, social work, gerontology, or neurocognitive disorders.
- Understanding of dementia and related disorders, with strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and interact effectively with residents of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to remain cheerful and calm under stress, and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Valid safe driving record; a copy of the DMV driving record must be provided upon hire.
