Cottonwood in Lawrence, KS is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support adults with disabilities in daily living, learning, and leisure activities. You'll work in our day program and in the community, helping participants grow and thrive with compassionate care.

The role emphasizes individualized attention in small groups, opportunities for meaningful activities, and a supportive, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18 years or older.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Must have a driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to Cottonwood’s insurance carrier.
• Must be physically able to evacuate individuals in the event of an emergency and be willing and able to intervene in the event of a physical conflict.
• Experience in the field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in our day program as well as in the community, exploring events, classes, local attractions, and businesses.
• Support participants with mealtime and hygiene needs, ensuring comfort and dignity.
• Plan and participate in engaging activities that bring joy and create lasting memories for the individuals we serve.
