Position Overview
Cedarhurst of Waterloo, a regional healthcare provider and a true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Life Enrichment Coordinator (Activities Coordinator).
Role Responsibilities
- Lead community activities programs as directed by the Life Enrichment Director and/or Executive Director.
- Introduce new residents and their families to the community's life enrichment programs.
- Assist in coordinating holiday decoration displays and contribute to resident assessments, including completing or ensuring completion of Life Stories.
- Assist in taking activity attendance and completing family messaging using our electronic platform.
- Drive the community bus for outings and appointments as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Life Enrichment Director or Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Genuine passion and interest in caring for seniors and individuals living with dementia.
- Ability to work well with others, communicate clearly, take direction, and show initiative.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings for special events.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the position, including lifting up to 50lbs independently and up to 100lbs with assistance.
