Job description

The Life Enrichment Coordinator develops, implements, and manages comprehensive activities program designed to meet the social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of our residents on a daily basis. He or she plans and coordinates events, outings, games, and exercises for residents and arranges for scout troops, school groups, and performance groups to visit the residents. In addition, the Life Enrichment Coordinator oversees all activities to ensure residents participate safely.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residentsOversees the management and daily operations of the activities departmentImplements and manages comprehensive activities programs for the residentsEnsures that each resident’s needs are assessed and that a plan of activities is developedManages the department budgetTrains and monitors volunteersMaintains equipment and the activities room or area in compliance with standardsEnsures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standardsCommunicates with residents and families regarding participation in and satisfaction with programsTransports residents to and from the community in assigned vehiclesComplies with and enforces all safety policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Strong leadership, motivational, and organizational skillsAble to organize and utilize time appropriately to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervisionSelf-starter; able to carry out diverse duties with minimal supervisionEnjoys thinking of new ideas; is creative and resourcefulPleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personalityCommunication and interpersonal skills to work with individuals of varying capabilitiesProficient computer and internet skillsAble to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as neededAble to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysUnrestricted driver’s license and clean driving recordEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED preferredMust be at least 18 years oldExperience planning social and recreational programs
