Position Overview
The Life Enrichment Associate will assist in the area of empowerment, maintenance, and supportive activities for Healthcare residents. The Life Enrichment Associate will assist with maintaining a schedule of group and individual activities of sufficient variety to meet the needs of healthcare residents, and work with other departments to provide a total care program for Schowalter Villa residents.
Essential Job Functions
- Learn to know the residents and their individual abilities and safety needs
- Lead and facilitate group activities, working with other staff to provide quality programming that reflects the preferences, abilities, and needs of residents in the healthcare community
- Assist residents to and from group activity programs
- Facilitate spontaneous small groups and 1:1 activities that promote meaningful engagement
- Report any changes in resident behavior, safety hazards, or procedural difficulties to supervisor or Charge Nurse
- Assist in the care and maintenance of Villa aviaries and facilitate Villa pet interactions
- Promote Healthcare residents contact with the wider community through use of digital media
- Contribute to department teamwork by putting supplies away after each use, reporting need for new supplies, and giving suggestions for efficient storage.
- Assist with the supervision of voluntary personnel working in Healthcare group and individual activities
- Assist neighborhood residents with needed adaptions to pursue preferred activities
Qualifications And Experience
- Must be at least sixteen [16] years of age
Physical Requirements
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
