Job summary

Luther Park Community is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support the Activities program for nursing home residents at the Trinity Center. This full-time role runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with one weekend per month, and involves engaging residents in group and one-on-one activities, plus helping with meals and care-plan tasks.

The position emphasizes creativity, compassion, and collaboration with nursing staff, residents, and families, in a supportive, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with seniors and/or dementia.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to work independently in a care setting.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and respect for residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct at least two group activities per shift.
• Visit residents one-on-one and lead small groups.
• Maintain documentation of residents’ progress and attendance.
• Assist with meals and feeding as defined in care plans.
• Engage families and orient them to activity supplies and resident responses.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to support residents and reduce challenging behaviors.
• Assist residents to and from activities and meals.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required by Luther Park policies.
• Observe infection control procedures related to the Activity Program.
