Job summary

Front Porch Communities & Services is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant at Villa Gardens Retirement Community in Pasadena. You will support the Life Enrichment Director by planning and carrying out programming addressing the six dimensions of whole person wellness and may assume department leadership in the Director's absence.

Summary

Assists the Life Enrichment Director to ensure the implementation of the Front Porch Vitality Initiative by planning for and carrying out comprehensive programming, activities and events addressing the six dimensions of whole person wellness. The Life Enrichment assistant may be asked to assume department leadership in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director.

Location & Hours

Villa Gardens Retirement Community

Pay Range: $20.25 - $23.00

Sunday-Thursday, 9am-5:30pm

Detailed Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co‑workers and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Assists with the coordination of resident and outside community member volunteers needed for Life Enrichment programming.
• Works closely with all departments associated with activity programs.
• Assists with the timely placement of appropriate seasonal décor.
• Assists in the active collaboration with outside community organizations.
• Assists with the coordination of all on and off campus events that may require transportation.
• Operates the appropriate technical equipment necessary to run a comprehensive activities program.
• Assists with administrative duties, including the operation of common office equipment.
• Is fiscally responsible for operating within the departmental budget.
• Follows department safety standards, practices body mechanic techniques and participates in campus‑wide safety programs.
• Performs all duties safely and efficiently, wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job, and reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
• Attends mandatory meetings and in‑services as required by the Executive Director.
• Front Porch is committed to preventing accidents by providing equipment with safeguards, personal safety equipment on jobs which require it, and adequate safety instructions to all employees.
• All employees are required to follow safe work habits in order to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees.

Essential Competencies and Skills

• Computer literacy; able to handle phones, fax and copier; emergency call systems; able to take vital signs of customers.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
