The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the planning, preparation, and delivery of daily activities that enhance residents’ overall quality of life, incorporating all seven dimensions of wellness: physical, intellectual, spiritual, vocational, environmental, social, and emotional. This role focuses on assisting with the execution of meaningful programs, building personal connections, and helping create purpose-driven experiences for each resident.
The Assistant works closely with the Life Enrichment Specialist to ensure that activities run smoothly, are well-attended, and reflect the unique culture of the community. This position also assists in the use of technology platforms to record participation, track engagement, and support personalized resident experiences.
POSITION INCLUDES WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND & Supporting Quarterly Family Nights
Memory Care Experience Preferred
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in recreation, activities, hospitality, or working with seniors preferred, but not required.
- Friendly, energetic, and creative with passion for improving the lives of older adults.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the Life Enrichment Specialist.
- Comfortable learning and using technology platforms for activity tracking and communication.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
- Assist the Life Enrichment Specialist in preparing and setting up activity spaces, gathering materials, and ensuring needed supplies are ready.
- Help escort and transport residents to and from programs, providing assistance and encouragement for participation.
- Support the execution of daily activities, special events, outings, and theme days.
- Engage with residents during activities, offering companionship, guidance, and enthusiasm.
- Assist in promoting upcoming programs through personal invitations, bulletin boards, and in-room visits.
- Help decorate for holidays, special events, and seasonal changes.
- Participate in creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where residents feel valued and involved.
- Assist with organizing and storing activity supplies and equipment.
- Use designated technology platforms to help record attendance, track engagement, and document resident preferences.
- Work with the Life Enrichment Specialist to adapt activities for residents with different abilities and interests.
- Support community partnerships by greeting and assisting volunteers, entertainers, and guest speakers.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance procedures during programs and outings.
- Attend required training, staff meetings, and in-services.
- Immediately report any actual or suspected resident abuse or neglect as required by law and company policy.
- Follow and support current, anticipated, and changing scheduled activities, including activities calendar adherence, support and communications.
- Other duties as assigned, including other department collaboration and support needs.

- Ability to read, write, communicate and follow directions in English.
- Ability to remain calm under stress and diffuse potential conflicts.
- Must be accurate, dependable, and thorough in all assigned tasks.
- Ability to prepare for & tolerate exposure to outdoor elements as duties may require.

- Maintain required education, certifications, and credentials.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Promptly report any incidents or compliance concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
