What You'll Do:
- Plan and Play: Create engaging activities that bring joy to residents, from games to personalized interactions.
- Connect and Care: Build meaningful relationships with residents, making them feel loved and cared for.
- Document and Collaborate: Keep track of activities and work with the team to ensure personalized attention for each resident.
- Family Engagement: Keep families informed and organize events to strengthen community ties.
What You Bring:
- Warm heart and a high school diploma (or relevant degree like Recreation Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology).
- Experience with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia, possibly through personal or professional encounters.
- Excellent communication skills to connect with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Creativity and patience to develop activities suitable for various needs.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
The role involves working primarily within the memory care unit, with a mix of planned activities, administrative tasks, and resident interactions. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting residents, and visual and sensory acuity to ensure safety and quality care. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals.
