Job summary

StoryPoint in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to help plan and execute activities that enhance residents' social welfare and interests in our senior living community.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a compassionate demeanor toward seniors, and the ability to work independently or with a team. This is a part-time position with a regular schedule and occasional weekends, promoting a supportive and engaging living environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Actively support our 1440 culture and pillars.
• Assist the Life Enrichment Director with the overall direction, planning, communication, and execution of activities and life skills in the Life Enrichment department.
• Support the Life Enrichment Director and Life Enrichment Lead with administrative tasks as needed.
• Complete all tasks and functions while maintaining a high level of resident safety.
• Support in proper setup, clean up, and upkeep of activity areas and community spaces.
• Support transportation by attending outings, coordinating relevant administrative tasks, and upholding safety practices.
• Adhere to and uphold all standards in the Employee Handbook.

Job description

• Location: 2210 E Park Ave, Des Moines, IA 50320
• Job Type: Part Time
• Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am-4pm. Occasional weekends from 10am-4pm
• Pay: $16 per hour

Position Summary:

The Life Enrichment Assistant assists in planning and performing life enrichment activities that are beneficial and complimentary to the social welfare and interests of the residents of a senior life connections community.

Required Experience for Life Enrichment Assistant:

Primary Responsibilities for Life Enrichment Assistant:

General Working Conditions:

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
