NHC HealthCare Anniston is seeking a compassionate Life Enrichment Assistant to plan and provide meaningful activities for our residents, supporting their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The ideal candidate is mature, dependable, and enthusiastic about elder care, with a willingness to learn and an ability to work a weekday schedule with potential weekend/evening programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability and desire to work with elderly patients and residents.
• Willingness to learn new ideas, programs, and skills.
• Positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist Life Enrichment/Recreation Director in assessing resident interests and needs.
• Plan and provide therapeutic activities to meet individual needs.
• Provide activities supporting physical, social, mental, and spiritual well-being.
• Participate in one-on-one programs when appropriate.
• Foster an engaging, positive environment and build relationships with residents and families.
• Support community relations and departmental programs and events.

NHC HealthCare Anniston is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team.

The Life Enrichment Assistant helps provide meaningful recreational opportunities designed to meet the physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and residents while creating an atmosphere of fun, engagement, and enjoyment.

The ideal candidate is mature, self-motivated, dependable, and has a genuine passion for working with seniors.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Life Enrichment/Recreation Director in assessing each patient or resident to identify individual interests, preferences, and activity needs.
• Assist with planning and providing therapeutic programs designed to meet each individual's needs.
• Provide activities that support the physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of patients and residents.
• Participate in individualized one-on-one programs for patients and residents as appropriate.
• Encourage participation and create an engaging, positive, and enjoyable environment.
• Build positive relationships with patients, residents, families, community members, and NHC partners.
• Assist with maintaining positive community and public relations.
• Support the Life Enrichment/Recreation Director with departmental programs, events, and activities.
• Follow NHC standards, policies, procedures, and the Better Way culture.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive approach when working with patients, residents, families, coworkers, and leadership.
