Job summary

Iris Memory Care of Edmond is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to engage residents in leisure activities, socializing, crafts, dancing, singing, cooking, gardening, and local outings. You will help implement life-enriching programs for residents with Alzheimer's or other dementias in a warm, small memory-care setting.

The role emphasizes building relationships, reliability, and energy to maintain resident enjoyment and dignity, with preference for memory-care experience.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging elderly residents in life-enrichment activities.
• Reliable and patient with a nurturing, energetic personality.
• Willingness to work with residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents in crafts, dances, music, and social activities.

Iris Memory Care of Edmond is looking for a part-time Activities Assistant. This position is responsible for engaging our residents in leisure activities that are of interest to them! Our residents need assistance to socialize, complete crafts, dance, sing, cook recipes, garden, accompany on excursions, and to be involved in and complete life enriching activities both that are scheduled monthly and some that are impromptu. This is an incredibly fun, rewarding, and important job for the right person!!We are a small, freestanding memory care assisted living located off of Lake Hefner Parkway on NW 178th between Penn and May. As a community focused on memory care, all of our residents are coping with Alzheimer's or other form of dementia. We are an age-in-place community, so you will care for residents all throughout the spectrum of the disease. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in life enrichment in a memory care setting.This is a part-time position. Rate of pay is $15 per hour.
