Job summary

Rancho Springs Memory Care in Rancho Cucamonga, CA seeks a Life Engagement Director to plan and manage activities for residents in memory support, promoting engagement and well-being.

You will assess resident needs, create programs, supervise volunteers, and coordinate with care teams, delivering compassionate, person-centered activities.

Qualifications

• College coursework in social work, gerontology, psychology, recreation therapy, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience, preferably in a dementia setting.
• Possess or be able to possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and free of restrictions or limitations.
• Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Know and understand the vision, purpose, values, and goals of Rancho Springs Memory Care.
• Create and manage memory support activity program.
• Plan, prepare, and direct in a variety of service programs for residents, specifically addressing the needs of the cognitively impaired.
• Interview residents to determine recreational/activity history, needs, and interests.
• Supervise and coordinate work of volunteer staff, performing administrative duties as needed.
• Schedule, promote, lead, and instruct activities; arrange programs; encourage participation; and coordinate in-room programs.
• Coordinate program services with director of resident services and/or other departments and committees.
• May complete quality assurance audits, attend resident care meetings, and document residents' progress.
• Facilitate and attend in-service training workshops and meetings as required.
• Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests, and coworkers.
• Promote and protect the rights of all residents.
