Acts Retirement-Life Communities is seeking a Life Engagement Coordinator for our skilled nursing neighborhood. You will plan and implement activities that provide residents with an ASE experience focused on body, mind, and spirit, promoting wellness and meaningful engagement across different cognitive and functional levels.

• Associate’s degree in recreation therapy, creative arts, or human services required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years minimum experience working with older adults.
• Certification in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Activity Director eligible/certified.
• Dementia engagement certification (or willingness to obtain within one year).
• CPR certification eligible/maintained.

Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Life Engagement Coordinator in our skilled nursing neighborhood.

In this role, you will responsible for planning and implementing programs and events providing residents with Acts Signature Experience (ASE) incorporating wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality. These ASE events will encompass the three components that define life balance and are needed for improving and maintaining quality of life: body, mind, and spirit. Moreover, this position is responsible for actively ensuring that residents of differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement consistent with the Acts engagement philosophy. The programs offered are informed by Montessori principles of resident empowerment and engagement and based upon personal history and preferences as expressed in My Story.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Associate’s degree in recreation therapy, creative arts, and/or human services related field is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred


• Minimum of three years of experience working with older adults


• Current or eligible for certification in one of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Activity Director


• Dementia engagement certification (or willing to obtain within one year of employment)


• Current or eligible for certification in CPR

Pay Range

$21.12 - $26.81 / hour. Starting rate will vary based on skills and experience.
