What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Conduct detailed life cycle assessments for products, materials, and processes across the Consumer Goods industries
- Develop recommendations and methodologies for enhancing data interoperability and customer use cases
- Interpret LCA results to identify environmental hotspots and opportunities for improvement
- Stay updated on evolving LCA methodologies, standards (ISO 14040/14044), and industry best practices
- Engage with companies to collect data through the MSI Contributor program
Required (Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience conducting life cycle assessments, particularly for apparel, textiles, or consumer goods
- Demonstrated proficiency with LCA modeling software (LCA For Experts preferred)
- Strong understanding of Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ISO 14040/14044 standards, and LCA methodology
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Familiarity with the Higg Index and knowledge of textile production processes
- Experience developing environmental product declarations (EPDs)
- Proficiency in additional LCA software tools and databases (e.g., ecoinvent)
- Knowledge of programming and automation tools for streamlining LCA processes (e.g., Python, R)
- Advanced expertise in uncertainty and sensitivity analysis in LCA studies
