Job summary

Institute for Nonviolence Chicago seeks a Life Coach to work with high-risk individuals in the SC2 Austin Collaborative and broader Chicago area. You will guide participants as they navigate court dates, housing and services, while promoting prosocial behaviors and stability.

The role requires crisis responsiveness, relationship-building, and strong documentation in SmartCare. Willingness to travel to community sites and attend trainings is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling/related field or equivalent clinical experience.
• At least five years experience with high-risk individuals preferred.
• Willingness to respond to crises around the clock.
• Knowledge of Chicago neighborhoods and the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Develop supportive and effective relationships with participants.
• Provide trauma-informed support, resources and accountability for a caseload of 20 participants.
• Complete intake processes and monitor participant goals.
• Document progress and events in the database and coordinate with partners.
• Assist participants with transportation to supports, court, and services.
• Respond to crises impacting participant safety and stability.
• Facilitate cognitive behavioral intervention (CBI) groups to support self-regulation.
• Attend VP-CST team meetings and annual trainings.
