Summary Of Position
Incumbent is responsible for implementation of the 12-Step Christian Recovery Program and the Ministry’s long-term, Christ-centered discipleship program. Oversees the supervision and assessment of men assigned to the Life Coach and becomes involved in all aspects of their care. The role emphasizes six key program goals:
- Physical: Medical and Dental Clinic appointments; develop an exercise program.
- Behavioral: Addiction and/or mental health counseling; coordinate resources like Naaman Center, psychiatric care.
- Spiritual: Teaching, study, counseling, church attendance, etc.
- Housing: Collaborate with landlords, housing agencies, and ministries.
- Educational/Occupational Needs: Connect with educational institutions, learn a trade, engage with local businesses.
- Does Life: Engage with guests through activities like work projects, attending events, etc.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitor program implementation to meet client needs effectively.
- Assess prospective participants and develop treatment plans.
- Discipleship and spiritual guidance to program participants.
- Facilitate group therapy, classroom instruction, and individual counseling.
- Administer guest discipline per guidelines.
- Participate in drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Assign and schedule work for participants.
- Attend all staff meetings; participation is mandatory unless pre-arranged.
- Meet with new guests, conduct assessments, and develop goals; follow up regularly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Provide a biblical testimony of faith in Jesus Christ; active in prayer, Bible study, church.
- Align with Mission policies and values.
- Commitment to serving the poor and homeless.
- Stable employment history.
- At least five years of full-time experience in Christian discipleship programs.
- Ability to lead devotional times and pray with guests and staff.
- Ability to articulate causes of addiction and treatment methodologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human and Social Services or equivalent experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficient in computer use for record-keeping and reports.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work may involve sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the facility. Interaction with guests, staff, and visitors is frequent. May be exposed to infectious conditions and hostile environments. Extended computer use may be required.
