Job summary

Recovery Centers of America in Virginia is seeking an Outpatient Primary Therapist to plan and coordinate medically-approved programs for patients in hospitals, substance abuse facilities, or other institution. You will inspire and motivate RCA clients to develop tools for recovery using evidence-based practices.

The role includes facilitating family therapy sessions, conducting individual and group therapy, and overseeing census and program quality within the assigned area.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required.
• Virginia licensure as a LPC, LMSW, LMFT or LCSW required.
• 1–3 years of experience in behavioral healthcare or substance abuse settings serving diverse populations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of group, individual, and family counseling.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients' mental and physical health and readiness for treatment.
• Help clients develop treatment goals and plans.
• Review and recommend treatment options with clients and families.
• Help clients develop skills to recover from addiction.
• Work with clients to identify behaviors that interfere with recovery.
• Teach families about addiction and coping strategies.
• Refer clients to other resources and services.
• Conduct outreach programs to identify signs of addiction and steps to avoid such behavior.
• Direct oversight of census within assigned area, including ensuring adequate leads and/or direction where appropriate.
• Ensures site meets census/budgetary requirements.
