Job Title: Life Actuarial Pricing Manager

Location: Remote (Preference for candidates near Bloomington, IL; Please avoid these states: California, District of Columbia, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia)

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary Range: USD $160,000 – $210,000/yr

Job Description:

The Life Actuarial Pricing Manager is responsible for leading a team in the development and pricing of life and annuity products, ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves strategic leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with various departments to drive product success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and professional development of staff, including performance evaluations and goal setting.
  • Lead actuarial functions within the life/health/annuity division, including planning future activities and communicating insights to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and actuarial standards, maintaining SOA Continuing Professional Development requirements.
  • Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring preparedness in case of operational disruptions.
  • Monitor industry trends and product profitability to offer competitive, value-driven product suites.
  • Drive the product development process from ideation to implementation, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Provide insights to executive leadership regarding necessary product modifications.
  • Collaborate with valuation, underwriting, and other teams to ensure coherence across business functions.
  • Mentor and develop newer actuaries, strengthening the division's capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience working with Life and/or Annuity products.
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
  • Proven Life Pricing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading direct reports.
