The State of South Carolina seeks a Security Supervisor for a medium/maximum security facility. This role involves overseeing staff actions, ensuring safety protocols are upheld, and addressing inmate issues. Ideal candidates should have supervisory experience in corrections, military, or police work, complemented by a strong educational background in Criminal Justice. Effective conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain facility standards are essential.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may be substitute for the required experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
Three (3) years of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
A degree in Criminal Justice or a related degree may substitute for Supervisory experience year for year (associate and above = 1 year).
Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
