Job Location: 150 North 18th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85007

Posting Details: Salary: $77,000, Grade: 23

Job Summary:

Performs activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Medical Facilities Licensing. Assists with issuing and maintaining licenses for healthcare facilities and providers, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Conducts initial and annual recertification inspections, reviews quality systems, and investigates unlicensed or complaint-related issues. Develops standards, participates in rulemaking, and provides technical assistance. Supervises staff, reviews reports, and oversees training programs.

Job Duties:
  • Manage and direct subordinate staff, including hiring, training, and evaluations.
  • Assist with licensing processes and compliance inspections.
  • Conduct investigations and respond to technical questions.
  • Participate in meetings and develop reports and performance metrics.
  • Oversee and review quality systems and develop training materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of federal regulations, Arizona statutes, facility management, and quality methodologies.
  • Skills in interpreting regulations, communication, analysis, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt priorities, work independently, analyze data, and support diversity and inclusion.
Selective Preferences:

Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience as a surveyor or in management. Preference for candidates with professional licenses such as RN, Social Worker, Dietitian, or Counselor, or eligibility for reciprocity.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Fingerprint Clearance Card, completion of specific training certificates, and compliance with driving and employment verification requirements.
