Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Licensing Engineer to support the deployment of advanced nuclear technology and licensing strategy for new plant development. You will report to the New Plants Licensing Manager for Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing and assist in regulatory compliance for domestic and international standards.

The role includes hybrid work arrangements (2 days in an office) at US locations such as Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry Woods, PA, with travel <10% and collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Nuclear).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • New Graduate Engineers encouraged to apply.
  • Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel) required at an advanced level.
  • Excellent communication skills are required as teammates and specialists are across the country and the world.
  • Ability to travel within US and globally (<10% travel).

Responsibilities

  • Support licensing documents for submittal to customers and regulatory agencies for new plant technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create licensing inputs.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory meetings to present technical materials.
  • Communicate status of work to technical lead and management.
  • Work within scope, budget and schedule requirements.

As a Licensing Engineer you will support the deployment of advanced nuclear technology, with a focus on Advanced Plant reactor projects. You will report to the New Plants Licensing Manager for Safety Analysis, Risk Applications, and Licensing and will directly support the exciting growth in the Westinghouse Advanced Plant development globally.

Hybrid work arrangements (typically 2 days in an office) are available at one of the Westinghouse US Engineering Office locations including: Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry Woods, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Support more senior engineering personnel in development efforts creating licensing documents for submittal to Westinghouse customers and regulatory agencies, focused on new plant technologies
  • Collaborate with variety of engineering teams to create licensing inputs.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory meetings to present technical materials
  • Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Required ( Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Nuclear )
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • New Graduate Engineers encouraged to apply.
  • Microsoft Product skill sets required at an advanced level- so a strong ability to work within WORD and EXCEL.
  • Excellent Communication skills are required as teammates and specialist are across the country and the world.
  • Ability to travel within US and Globally (<10% travel expected to support customer, industry, or regulator activities), with additional opportunities available if desired.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
