Job summary

The Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an Investigator to conduct investigations into complaints and alleged violations under ORC 4757. You will interview witnesses, review records, and prepare cases for hearings.

This full‑time role requires strong interviewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain comprehensive case files and respond to public records requests, while supporting prosecution and adjudication processes.

Qualifications

• 30 months of training or 30 months of investigative experience with valid driver's license.
• OR Completion of associate core program in law enforcement, criminal justice or in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file AND 12 months of experience conducting investigations and/or inspections AND valid driver's license.
• OR 30 months of training or 30 months of experience as Investigator Assistant, 26210 with experience corresponding to type of complaints and alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description AND valid driver's license.
• OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of complaints and allegations under ORC 4757.
• Handle complaints and allegations submitted to the Board.
• Make preliminary determinations after interviewing involved parties and reviewing evidence.
• Conduct investigations in conjunction with Board members.
• Interview witnesses and gather records to aid decision making.
• Maintain case files and confer with Board and legal staff for documentation and hearings.
• Testify as needed during prosecutions and hearings.
• Prepare responses to public records requests.
• Monitor compliance requirements of disciplined licensees.
• Maintain investigation databases.
• Prepare investigation reports.
