Children and Family Services - Remote in North Dakota - Licensing and Level of Care Specialist (LOC)
Support children who need treatment to succeed and be close to family during times of struggle with the intent of reunification. ND Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Licensing and Level of Care Specialist (LOC) within the Children & Family Services Division.
During a typical week as a Licensing and LOC Specialist, you will conduct onsite visits and provide technical assistance to facilities and agencies, support the Children's Treatment Services Level of Care Determination process, participate and lead trainings/meetings and review case specific needs to evaluate the level of care determined. Also, you'll serve as a resource for child welfare staff and service providers who are seeking the least restrictive most appropriate level of care, and participate in statewide case staffing meetings. Furthermore, you'll analyze data and share ideas on initiatives to increase early intervention and to stop a child's progression deeper into the system.

Also you can communicate effectively and professionally with diverse populations, public agencies, private agencies, constituents and licensed or certified foster care providers. You address tough situations with tolerance and without judgement. And you're able to remain calm and focused without becoming overwhelmed by urgent deadlines.
To Be Considered, You Must Have The Following
- bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, elementary education, early childhood education, special education, child development and family science, human resource management (human service track) or criminal justice.
- AND three (3) years of professional experience working within the child welfare system or behavioral health field. Knowledge of licensing foster homes, childcare settings, facilities, agencies or shelter sites is a bonus.
