Job summary

The New England Water Works Association in Massachusetts is seeking an Operator III, Water to operate and maintain facilities and support the Operations Lead Operator & Supervisor. The role includes on-call night and weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three (5) years’ experience in water field or related industry.
• Must possess a valid active T-2 and/or D-2 Water Operator License (D1/T1 candidates considered).
• Demonstrated strong communication skills.
• Must be computer literate in Windows and MS Office.
• Must be available after hours and on-call as required.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• OSHA 10 Certification (or ability to obtain during onboarding).
• DOT medical card (onboarding provided by company) and pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain assigned facilities and support Lead Operator & Supervisor.
• Adhere to safety policies and conduct code of conduct.
• Maintain compliant, safe work environment at all facilities.
• Complete and maintain site operation logs and submit reports timely.
• Provide filing and recordkeeping per company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure facilities are operated within contractual, regulatory, and permit requirements.
• Conduct sampling and field analysis per rules and regulations.
• Communicate with Lead Operator and Operations Supervisor on activities.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in operations.
• Interact professionally with customers and regulatory agencies.
