Job summary

Hillcrest Adolescent Treatment Center in Los Angeles County, CA, seeks a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide on-site nursing care in a residential setting. You will support residents with medication administration, monitoring, and compassionate care, reporting to the Clinical Director or Nursing Supervisor.

Two years’ LVN experience (mental health preferred) plus CPR/First Aid are required. Knowledge of EMR systems (KIPU) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active LVN license in good standing.
• Minimum of two years’ LVN experience, preferably in mental health.
• Experience with MAT and/or Detox is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience with EMR systems such as KIPU is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily SOAP notes and keep records per facility and state standards.
• Monitor residents and document changes in condition or reactions.
• Observe self-administration of medications and document accordingly.
• Coordinate with IMS physicians and outside providers as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and pharmacy to resolve nursing concerns.
• Input Doctor's Orders and Medication Protocols in EMR.
• Schedule appointments with psychiatrists and other therapists; ensure room readiness.
• Provide training and supervision related to detox and medication protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and document accurately.
• Manage nursing supplies inventory and ensure HIPAA and CARF compliance.

This part‑time position is in Los Angeles County, CA, and requires on‑site work in a residential treatment facility. Hours are flexible‑Monday through Friday. Starting Pay is $35-$38 hourly.

The Role:

Deliver Compassionate Nursing Care that Changes Lives

Reporting to the facility’s Clinical Director or Nursing Supervisor, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a key role in the medical care and emotional support of clients in a residential treatment setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Complete daily SOAP note and ensure records are maintained in accordance with standards of facility and state regulations.
• Observe clients, charting and reporting changes in clients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action.
• Observe clients self‑administering prescribed medication and document appropriately.
• Communicate with IMS physician and other outside physicians where outside referrals may be indicated.
• Work with physicians and pharmacy to ensure medical/nursing/medication concerns are reported and problems resolved.
• Input Doctor's Orders and Medication Protocols in EMR.
• Schedule clients' appointments with the psychiatrist, Dietician, EMDR therapist, etc., send the zoom link to the 3rd party and ensure the client is in the room ready for the appointment at the designated time.
• Provide training and supervision of clients to support non‑clinical staff as it relates to detox and medication protocols.
• Measure and record clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Perform inventory check and maintenance of nursing supplies and OTC medication supplies.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and CARF standards.
• Fully understand and maintain policies & procedures regarding professional ethics, confidentiality, and healthy boundaries.
• Fully understand our medication management policy and infection control protocol.

Your Qualification:

To be a good fit for the Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) opportunity, you will have:

• Current & active Licensed Vocational Nurse
• At least two years of experience working as an LVN is required, preferably in a mental health treatment setting
• Knowledge and experience with Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) and/or Detox
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience with KIPU is a plus
• Outstanding time management skills to balance patient care and complete required daily SOAP notes across two sites
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills (i.e., Internet, email, and Microsoft Office applications)
