Job summary

Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. (MCHC) seeks a compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to support our care team in delivering high-quality healthcare to the Mendocino and Lake Counties community. You will assist providers, participate in team huddles, and ensure accurate EHR documentation.

The LVN will administer medications and vaccines as ordered, educate patients, manage med refills, and uphold infection control and OSHA standards in a collaborative outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Valid California LVN license is required.
• Completion of IV therapy course approved by the California State Board.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Support providers and care teams in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Participate in daily team huddles and trainings.
• Administer medications and vaccines per orders within LVN scope.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
• Educate patients as directed by the provider.
• Refill routine medications under licensed supervision.
• Perform therapeutic blood withdrawal and IV therapy if certified.
• Maintain infection control practices per OSHA standards.

What You’ll Do

• Support providers and care teams in a fast-paced, team-based environment
• Prepare and participate in daily team huddles and trainings
• Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with provider orders and within the Licensed Vocational Nurse scope of practice
• Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Educate patients as directed by the provider
• Refill routine medication according to established protocol and under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider
• Perform therapeutic blood withdrawal and IV therapy if certified
• Maintain infection control practices and OSHA standards

Requirements

• Valid State of California Certificate of Registration as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Satisfactory completion of a prescribed course of instruction in intravenous therapy, approved by California State Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working as an LVN, in an outpatient setting.
