Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services’ Calder Woods community in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct nursing care and supervise care staff as part of the nursing team.

You will implement resident care plans, administer prescribed treatments, and work a 12-hour day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on-site. Strong nursing licensure in Texas and long-term care experience are preferred to support our residents with compassionate, professional care.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must hold and maintain current Texas nursing licensure.
• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the individual health care plan is followed; administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
• Maintain compliance with Buckner policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Make meaningful rounds of all residents, and record visits on charts with physicians.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; perform in-house testing; record vital signs.
• Assist in maintaining health care plans and document changes in resident status.
• Supervise aides, assigning duties and monitoring performance.

We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our community committed to delivering outstanding care to our residents. As an LVN, responsible for implementation of the goals and objectives of the unit, nursing service and facility through coordinating resident care management and staff direction and by providing direct nursing care to residents. What you’ll do:

• Ensure that the individual health care plan is followed; administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
• Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all federal and state laws and all agency regulatory guidelines and requirements
• Make meaningful rounds of all residents, utilizing health care plans; make rounds with physicians and accurately and timely record visits on charts.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; perform in-house testing procedures; take and record vital signs
• Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status
• Supervise aides in the performance of their duties by monitoring their work; assign aides to residents, specifying break times and special duties to be completed.

What you’ll bring:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must hold and maintain current Texas nursing licensure. Must complete and/or meet training, certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas. Previous experience in long term care preferred
• Minimum one-year related experience
• Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
• Work schedules, assignments and units as requested by the facility to meet business needs.
• Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects.
• Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift.
• Adhere to the Licensed Vocational Nurse practice standards as established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
