Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LVN provides nursing care within the scope of licensure for assigned patients, following established standards and hospital policies.

Essential Functions

• Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide patient care as prescribed.
• Consult with and inform the Registered Nurse of patient activities, symptoms, reactions, and changes.
• Provide pain management and educate patients and families about pain management techniques.
• Administer medication following the five rights within scope of practice.
• Assist with rehabilitation and treatment plans, updating and revising under RN supervision.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures, performing services requiring technical skills.
• Treat patients and families with respect, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
• Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in care planning.
• Assist with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
• Address psychosocial needs and communicate with Social Services/Discharge Planner regarding discharge needs.

Compensation and Qualifications

• Sign-on bonus of $8,000.
• Salary range: $21.00 - $26.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LVN program.
• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse License.
• BCLS Certification; IV Certification preferred.
• Minimum six months of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
