La Palma Intercommunity Hospital in Los Angeles is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician for evenings, full-time. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, following EMTALA guidelines in the ER while supporting a team-focused, patient-centered environment.

Applicants should hold an active LVN license and current BLS; ACLS, PALS, NRP, and EDAP certificates are required within specified timelines.

• Current and valid LVN license in the state.
• BLS certificate required.
• ACLS and PALS certificates required within specified hire windows.
• NRP certificate required within 90 days of hire; EDAP certificate required 6 months of hire.
• IV certification upon hire; BW certification preferred.

Responsibilities

The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills, within the scope of practice, that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, and meets the communication needs of the patient and family; Performs under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA Regulations and triage process in the ER setting.

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• IV certification upon hire; Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification preferred.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certificate required 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA/ARC) certificate required 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• NRP certificate required 90 days of hire and maintain current.
• EDAP certificate required 6 months of hire and maintain current.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $28.00 to $37.68. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
