Licensed Vocational Nurse I
$24.85 - $30.21 Hourly / $1,988.00 - $2,416.80 Biweekly
Licensed Vocational Nurse II
$27.43 - $33.35 Hourly / $2,194.40 - $2,668.00 Biweekly
DESCRIPTION:
Performs routine client care, vocational nursing care and/or rehabilitative treatment services to clients in outpatient, the Crisis Intervention Clinic (CIC), community and correctional settings. May provide leadership to assigned staff. Performs related duties as assigned.
Provides effective client care and vocational nursing duties and, as required, monitors and charts vital signs changes dressings administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians notifies supervisor and/or physicians of any changes in client conditions.
Collects various specimens and cultures performs blood glucose tests fills out nursing observation sheets and reports.
May perform duties as treatment nurse, including assessing, cleansing and dressing wounds, skin tears, abrasions, lesions, etc., and implementing appropriate treatments.
Maintains client charts and prepares comprehensive, accurate and timely documentation of all medications and treatments administered implements oral and written orders received from physicians.
Provides referrals, crisis intervention, and assistance to individuals contacting the CIC via phone or walk-in.
Receives and responds to client/family member inquiries and concerns regarding clients’ care and condition.
Assists in processing client admissions and discharges, including listing and storing of valuables assists with postmortem arrangements as needed.
Performs and documents client assessments.
Orders medications maintains an accurate inventory of supplies orders and restocks supply room.
Bilingual Candidates: Translate, interpret and otherwise communicate with members of the Spanish speaking community.
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Licensed Vocational Nurse II – two (2) years of LVN experience required.
LICENSE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
A valid California driver’s license
The department is currently recruiting for one (1) vacancy.
In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for a Licensed Vocational Nurse I/II, as well as subsequent vacancies, which occur during the life of the eligibility list.
