Job summary

AltaMed Health Services seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for an in-person FLOAT position in Commerce, CA. The LVN will provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, including vitals, data gathering, medication administration, and treatments.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited LVN program, a valid California LVN license, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program is required.
• Current California LVN license (Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians) is required.
• BLS certification (or higher) is required or preferred.
• Experience with geriatric patients is preferred or beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs.
• Gather patient data and document findings.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Provide direct patient care and treatments under RN or physician supervision.

Job Overview

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LVN school.
• Current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as an LVN is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of geriatric patients are preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
• Bilingual Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese highly preferred.
• Current and valid driver's license and active insurance verification.

Compensation

Pay for this job starts at $31.93 hourly

Actual salary offers are considered by various factors, including budget, experience, skills, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The range is subject to change.
