Job Title / Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse - (Hiring for coverage in South Bay Cities including El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, The Palos Verdes Peninsula, Carson, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Huntington Park, Norwalk, Los Angeles)

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor / Nursing Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with team members to achieve positive patient outcomes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides direct patient care as defined in the State’s Nurse Practice Act.
  • Implements the plan of care initiated by the registered nurse.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care.
  • Assesses patients and provides education to patients and families/caregivers regarding diagnosis and care plans.
  • Participates in coordinating home health services, reporting needs for other disciplines (HHA, OT, PT, MSW, ST, Dietitian) to the registered nurse or supervisor.
  • Uses equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently.
  • Engages in personal and professional growth and development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
  • At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in community/home health or medical/surgical settings.
  • Currently licensed as a vocational nurse in the state.
  • Adheres to professional standards and practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and maintain good vehicle condition.
  • Current CPR certification.
